Rules for using detergents for washing and disinfecting linen_

The dosage of detergents, bleaching, antistatic, and starchy agents is regulated by the manufacturer and depends on the content of the components, as well as water hardness, washing conditions (technological program). Detergents and disinfectants can be supplied to washing machines centrally in the form of a solution or in dry form.

  1. For washing clothes in departments for newborns and children under 1 year, a separate technological flow is organized and soap-based detergents that do not contain synthetic surfactants are used.
  2. When washing clothes with a large amount of protein stains (blood, milk, manure, etc.), to avoid brewing, several soaks in water are carried out with a gradual increase in temperature.
  3. The temperature of disinfection solutions should be 15 - 20 ° C to prevent protein stains from brewing onto the laundry. For chemical disinfection of linen, disinfectants approved for use in Ukraine are used, based on active oxygen, halogens and their derivatives, ammonium compounds, which have a full spectrum of antimicrobial activity and do not fix protein stains and do not spoil the fabric.
  4. To improve the removal of biological contaminants (blood, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, feces, etc.) during the washing process, washing powder with a disinfectant effect based on active oxygen is used in washing machines.
  5. Washing of linen with disinfection of medical and preventive institutions of infectious profile (including dermatovenereological, purulent surgery, tuberculosis, etc.), as well as for pregnant women, women in labor and newborns, regardless of the degree of contamination, is carried out in accordance with the regime for washing linen with specific (protein) contamination of the IV degree of contamination.
  6. To optimize the washing process, extend the service life of linen and washing machines, it is recommended to use a system of liquid bleaching agents or other specially concentrated liquid agents permitted for use in Ukraine. The washing and chemical-thermal disinfection modes are given in Appendix 1 to this Instruction.
  7. Clean laundry should not contain residues of detergents and disinfectants and require thorough rinsing.
