HOW TO CALCULATE THE QUANTITY OF EQUIPMENT FOR A LAUNDRY ROOM?_

The issue of selecting  equipment for a laundry is, of course, very important and complex, since you need to take into account not only the desired technical characteristics and cost of the equipment, but also calculate its optimal quantity.

The required amount of laundry equipment should be determined based on the area of the room and the required productivity. To calculate the amount of laundry equipment in terms of productivity, there is a special methodology based on the ratio of the volume of laundry to the capacity of the washer/dryer.

Some laundry equipment manufacturers indicate the maximum load in kilograms. But how to calculate the amount of equipment needed when the manufacturer has not indicated the maximum load in kilograms? To do this, you need to take into account 2 values: the volume of the drum (must be indicated in the passport) and the filling factor, which indicates the amount of laundry relative to the volume of the drum.

So, for example, if the drum volume of the washing machine is 200 l, and you need to know the loading volume of cotton laundry in kilograms, we take the loading factor (for cotton laundry I usually take 10) and make the calculation: 200:10=20 kg.

To calculate the required amount of equipment for your laundry, take the volume of laundry that you plan to process and convert it into a conventional machine drum. That is, if to wash terry clothes you need a total drum volume of 834 liters, you need three machines with a load of at least 28 kg, or two machines with a load of at least 43 kg.

The calculation of the required number of dryers is made according to the same principle.
